TED Notepad also provides a portable version; the program itself has a size of 120k and has several cool features that are unknown to Notepad.

5. AkelPad

While all the tools above have advanced functions, AkelPad is a simple open source editor for plain text. It is designed to be a small and fast replacement for Notepad.

  3. Actually, Dropbox itself will do plain text without a separate app (iOs or Android).
    Menu> New> Text File.

  4. I use 'PlainText' for iOs, mainly because it syncs smoothly with Dropbox. Text only.

    But i would recommend ' Evernote ' . Use this and you are bound to fall in love with it.

    It comes for all platforms, be it desktop or mobile. Has an incredibly beautiful interface and awesome features.
